Trauma plate for mounting in front and back of bulletproof vests. EA Single Curved Trauma Plate IV ICW (SiC) is designed to fit our Impact and Xtreme models – bulletproof and stab-resistant vests, which you can find here. This trauma plate is made from our strongest material, silicon carbide (SiC), which is harder and more resistant than our alumina (AL203) and polyethylene (PE) trauma plates.

The plate has been tested against threats such as the AK47 – see the test details below. It features a single curve design, meaning it comes as a single unit, ready for easy insertion into the vest. The curved shape ensures an optimal fit and increased comfort, as the plate follows the body's natural contours. ICW (In Conjunction With) indicates that the trauma plate should be used in conjunction with "Soft Body Armor," referring to bulletproof vests at level IIIA, to achieve the stated protection level. The trauma plate weighs 2.2 kg.

The trauma plate has been tested against the following threats:

• Tested against 6 shots from 7.62*39mm AK47 MSC with cartridges having a specific mass of 7.7g and an impact of 740m/s4 according to NIJ std 0101.06 and 5.56x45 NATO according to international tests.
